We are closed for six legal holidays during the year: New Years Day, Memorial Day,

Medical Insurance Information
The physician’s and nurse practitioners of Coastal Pediatrics are contracted primary care providers with most health insurance plans offered in Ventura County. We see patients with HMO plans such as Aetna, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Cigna and PacifiCare.
These plans must be administered by Seaview Medical Group/IPA (805) 988-5188.
Coastal Pediatrics is contracted with most PPO plans offered in Ventura County such as Affiliated Health Plans, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Health Net, One Health Plan, Western Growers, Great West and many more!
We are also contracted with Ventura County Healthcare Plan, Tricare/Triwest and Healthy Families.

General Practice Information
Our Board Certified Pediatricians and Nurse Practitioners provide important preventative care and treatment of illnesses for children of all ages - infants, toddlers, the school age child and teenagers. Health maintenance visits include regular physical exams, immunizations and the monitoring of growth and development. Our practice promotes regular check-ups and prompt treatment of illnesses to prevent problems.The Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, or CPNP's, work in collaboration with the physicians in caring for your children. As specialists in pediatrics, they have completed a rigorous education program leading to a masters degree in nursing & board certification in pediatrics.
If you are entering our practice for the first time as the parents of a newborn, your first encounter with our physicians will be in the hospital. The physician will review the hospital birth records and do the initial exam of your newborn. To ensure continuity of care while you and your baby are in the hospital, hospital rounds are done by only one of our physicians each week. You will usually see the same doctor during your hospital stay. When you are ready to schedule your first office visit, we encourage you to make the baby's appointment with any doctor you wish to see in our practice.
Appointments are available Monday-Friday. Both offices are open Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM. We are closed for lunch between 12:00 Noon and 1:30 PM. On a seasonal basis, we may extend our office hours or add Saturday morning office hours. Please listen to our brief voice mail menu and access the system accordingly, depending on the time of day you are calling.
If you are ever faced with a LIFE THREATENING MEDICAL EMERGENCY, regardless of the time of day, you should DIAL 911 for rapid emergency assistance.
Your calls regarding medication refills and dosing, treatment of childhood illnesses or fever, nutrition and growth & development questions can always be answered best by our staff and physicians during regular office hours when they have access to your child's chart and medical history. You can call the Nurse's Line in either office and they will gladly call you back to discuss your questions or concerns.

We encourage you to schedule your child's Well Child or Physical Exams well in advance. Our computerized scheduling allows us to schedule up to a year in advance for your convenience. Please feel free to call and schedule the Well Child, Camp or Sports Physical when you receive your work schedule or your child's sports schedule.
When your child is ill and needs to be seen by a physician on a more urgent basis, please call first thing in the morning so we can insure an appointment for your child. Receptionists in both offices are available at 8:30 AM to take your calls.
If you have a change in insurance or change of address, we ask that you arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will allow us to update your records and still see your child on time.
We make every effort to see each patient on time, but occasionally, sick children or children with complex problems can require extra time and attention. This may cause delays in our schedule. If this happens during your visit, we ask for your understanding and patience. Know that your child will receive the same attention should the need ever arise. In pediatrics, we must deal with priorities and an emergency or acutely ill child will always be seen first. We recognize that your time is valuable and important to you and will gladly reschedule your appointment to a time that is more convenient to you if you cannot wait. Please ask the receptionist to assist you.
If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, we kindly ask that you let us know right away so that we may free up that time for another patient. There is a $20.00 no-show fee for any missed appointments that aren't cancelled 24 hours in advance.
